Akyaka

 |
Akyaka has always been popular with discerning Turkish tourists and this, together with its distinctive Ula-Mugla architecture and the pretty river running through it, makes it one of the most charming of coastal villages. There are several simple restaurants and shops in the village and a handful of fish restaurants on the cool river’s edge, where ducks, terrapins and fish can be watched among the reeds of the river margins.
Akyaka has its own sandy beach, and there are other beautiful bays, such as Çinar Beach, nearby and, although the village is at its liveliest in July and August, there are numerous places to find peace or to explore locally. Fascinating ancient ruins lie within easy reach by car as do dramatic gorges and the picturesque areas of Mugla, Dalyan and the Bozburun Peninsula.
